Hotel Perks You Didn’t Know You Could Get (And Why You Should Book with a Travel Advisor)
Road Trip!
It’s about a six to seven hour drive from my house to San Antonio, Texas, where my family went a little weekend getaway this past weekend.
Needless to say, when we finally got to our hotel, I was tired and not thinking. When the front desk checked me in, he asked about my room and I thought I heard him say, “3 queen beds” but I thought he just meant 3 beds… you know, the room I had booked through my host agency (which was actually 2 double beds and a pull-out sofa).
I was like, “yeah,” that sounds great. Anything to get me settled in and get the kids out of the car lol.
So when we got up to our room, I only saw 2 beds, and I was like, “wait?” where is the couch. Didn’t he say 3 queens? I’m going to have to go down to the front desk and get this situated. We can NOT do 2 beds.
Then my son opened a door, which I just assumed was a closet or something, and there it was, the SECOND BEDROOM with a bed just for me and my husband!
Upgrades are not just for fancy schmancy hotels. They can happen at “budget” hotels too!
Can we say UPGRADE????
Listen, we booked this hotel for the location and free breakfast… which are both great… but surprise room upgrades? Even better!
For a family of five, that extra space was so appreciated.
Everyone slept better, there was less arguments over bed space, and my husband and I could sleep while our kids stayed up being teenagers.
This is why you book with a travel advisor!!!!
When you book directly through a travel advisor (like me!!!!), you can often unlock hotel perks you didn’t even know existed.
